Governors’ Camp Collection is hosting Will Fortescue as our in-house photographer to capture all the magic of the Masai Mara this Migration season!
“I am so excited to be back in the Mara this year for Migration season. Each year, between July and September hundreds of thousands of wildebeest descend on the Mara in one of nature’s most dramatic spectacles. This to a photographer is like the world cup to a sportsman. There is, quite simply, no photography experience quite like it.
At Governors’ we are usually at our busiest during this time of year. Guests the world over are, understandably, desperate to see a crossing. Sadly, this year, for obvious reasons a lot of you are unable to join us on safari. So, with that in mind, we are aiming to bring the experience to your home.
From August through to October I will be out on safari, every day, capturing as much as I can to share with you all. We know a lot of you crave for information about your favourite members of the Marsh Pride, or to hear about elephant movements within camp, news of Romi who is arguably the most beautiful and relaxed leopard in the Mara and let’s not forget the main reason I’m here, the Great Migration!
All of this I will be capturing through photos, films and live safaris on social media with the aim of making you feel as close to the action as possible. While we are gutted not to be sharing this with all of you over a Tusker beer in camp, we hope this might be the next best thing.
For those of you that are able to join us between now and the end of October please do say hello. Also, if you have any questions about your camera equipment, techniques or how to approach photographing our amazing wildlife, please do ask your manager to arrange a meeting and I can come to see you in camp and answer any questions you may have.
I look forward to sharing the migration with you all, be it virtually or in person” – Will Fortescue
