Travel and Transfers

Planning your Safari

We have a dedicated Sales team at our head office in Nairobi who can help you plan all aspects of your travel around Kenya, Rwanda and the region.

We can arrange your ‘meet and greet’ at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, road transfers within Nairobi, book your city hotels and excursions, and arrange transfers to the domestic airport. With our aviation service Governors’ Aviation we can book your internal flights to Loldia House or the Masai Mara and help you book your internal flights onwards after your safari.

Travel to the Masai Mara

Governors’ Aviation:

Governors’ Aviation operates twice daily flights from Nairobi Wilson Airport and once daily from Loldia House to Musiara Airstrip, Masai Mara (duration approximately forty five minutes).

Clients are met on arrival in the Masai Mara and transferred by vehicle to the camp (duration approximately fifteen minutes).

Governors’ Aviation operates return flights from Musiara Airstrip (Masai Mara) to Nairobi Wilson Airport twice daily.

Charter flights: 

We can also arrange charter flights to and from other areas in the region.

Road transfer: 

Road transfers to the Masai Mara from Nairobi are possible. The journey takes approximately six hours (depending upon road conditions).

Travel to Loldia House

Governors’ Aviation:

Governors’ Aviation operates daily flights from Nairobi to Loldia Ranch. Daily flights from Loldia House onwards to the Masai Mara are also available on Governors’ Aviation.

Road transfer:

Road transfers to Loldia House  from Nairobi are possible. The journey takes approximately two hours (depending upon road conditions).

Travel to Mfangano Island Camp

Charter flight: 

Daily charter flights are available – these take approximately 40 minutes from any camp in the Masai Mara followed by a boat transfer to the camp (approximately twenty minutes). Charter flights can also be arranged direct from Nairobi, either with Governors’ Aviation or other select airlines.

Scheduled flight: 

Daily flights are available from Nairobi to Kisumu on Kenya Airways (forty five minutes). Onwards by road & boat transfer (approximately three hours).

Road transfer: 

Self drive to Mbita on Lake Victoria (approximately six hours from Nairobi) followed by boat transfer to camp (approximately forty five minutes).

Travel to Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge

International flights: 

Kenya Airways and Rwandair both fly daily between Kigali and Nairobi. Flying time is one hour and fifteen minutes. Rwandair flys twice a week between Kigali and Kilimanjaro. Private charters from Nairobi to Kigali can be organised for clients who wish to travel at times when the international airports are less busy and can process visas and baggage faster.

Road transfer from Kigali to Sabyinyo:

We can arrange road transfers from Kigali to Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge. This takes two hours by road on reasonable roads and through scenic agricultural countryside.
