Governors’ is hosting Felix Rome as Resident Photographer for February, March and April this year.
“There is no place like the Masai Mara. It’s a vast land filled with giants. The landscape stretches as far as the eye can see. Around every corner life thrives. For a wildlife photographer, it’s heaven.
I spent the year of 2021 and 2022 in the Masai Mara, working as the resident photographer for Governors’ Camp Collection. It has been a dream come true. I have experienced so many wonderful things and taken images I have been dreaming of for years. Everyday is different, you never know what you will see and you always see something. Mornings in the Mara are breathtaking and I sometimes find it hard to choose something to photograph as there is too much to capture. Sunrise casts a vibrant hue of pinks and oranges over the landscape. This is my favourite time to take images; animals are waking up and preparing for the day.
I wanted to bring the magic of the mara to you. I do this by going out on safari everyday and capturing images of the stunning wildlife. I also create videos of me on safari. In these videos I show what it is like to be on safari with Governors’ Camp Collection in the Masai Mara. I also give you advice on how to take the best pictures you can when on safari.
When you come to Governors’ I will be there to lend a helping hand with your camera. If you want, we can arrange that I can come with you on safari to teach you how to use your camera. Alternatively I can take the pictures for you, so you can enjoy the moment without worrying about your camera.
I look forward to taking more images and hopefully, seeing you out here. In the meantime, please follow me on Instagram or subscribe to my YouTube channel”
