Best lodge of the week

Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge was the best lodge of the week, which we were sort of expecting. The rooms (small private cabins) are huge, comfortable, and very nice. Had a fireplace that was always lit and when we returned to the room. No wifi in the rooms, but it was available in the main lodge. Sort of to be expected for the location. Quite a steep walk up to the lodge from the parking area, but it was a good trial run for the hiking we did the next 2 days for the gorillas. The managers were very friendly and welcoming, as were the entire staff. I had a nice massage too.

Returning is something that will definitely happen!

We have just returned from Sabyinyo, 2 couples, for Gorilla trekking. I would like to comment on the staff at Sabyinyo. They were absolutely wonderful-professional, kind, took total care of us. Michael, the manager, could not have been more complete in his care of us. And Fidel, who took care of us from the beginning, was extremely conscientious, determining our needs before we did. Priscilla in the dining room was always there to take our orders, special requests, always with an "Of course!".

Everything was perfect!

My husband and I and another couple, all from the USA, left a week ago tomorrow from your most wonderful hospitable beautiful dramatic Sabyinyo Silverback. We were devastated to leave and we miss everything and everyone. We had such a delightful stay - your staff is top notch and the setting magnificent - not to mention the overall "camp"! And Mike, the manager during our stay, was a perfect host!

Thank you for all of your work on this trip. It worked out very well. We had a wonderful time in Rwanda as well as Seychelles with all of the transports going without a hitch. Yes, we did get to see the gorillas and they were fantastic. I would mention however, that one of the groups was fighting what looked like a cold with a deep cough. I hope they do not develop serious consequences for the gorillas as they are endangered.

Thank you

Thank you for all your hospitality at SSL last month. Nelis and Tracey are excellent managers and looked after us superbly. We did get to see the Susa group and saw one of the twins from 10 years ago, Byishimo who was quite a star and spent some at the SACOLA cultural centre, so everything went really well.

The main lodge building was very comfortable, roomy and stylish with a large lounge and bar, information room, shop, reception and quiet seating area and a large airy dining room, plus an outside covered veranda with further comfortable seating.

I just wanted to thank you for my fabulous and most memorable stay with you, the surrounding community and the gorillas. The staff at the lodge are outstanding. I would like to commend the two people with whom I had the most contact: Bahati Gilbert and Felicia. Bahati is an extraordinary driver and guide and went out of his way to make sure my time was well spent. He is extremely courteous, knowledgeable and exceeded my expectations on every level. Felicia was my room steward and anticipated anything I might need and he did so with the best attitude.

We have returned from Rwanda, and just wanted to again thank you for your help in booking this trip. We appreciated your professionalism and friendliness very much, as well as your willingness to answer all questions so thoroughly. Our experience was amazing, and we can't say enough about the wonderful staff at Governor's Camp. It is such beautiful accommodation, the meals were incredible, and the service was just out of this world. We have nothing to suggest in terms of change, as our stay was absolutely perfect.

Thanks so much for the accommodation offered and excellent hospitality experienced at Sabyinyo Lodge. We really felt at home and welcome, and I thought that the lodge was gorgeous and the rooms very pleasant. Nelis and Tracey were very kind and I enjoyed meeting them. I was particularly impressed by the extra touches offered to guests in the form of providing raincoats, gaiters, gloves and backpacks and can highly recommend the lodge to prospective clients who are already making enquiries about gorilla trekking in Rwanda!
