For over two decades, we have partnered with communities across the Masai Mara, the Great Rift Valley, and Laikipia to improve access to quality education. We believe the long-term protection of these wild landscapes relies on the people who live alongside them, and that empowering the next generation is vital.
Working alongside community leaders, we have helped construct essential infrastructure, including classrooms, libraries, dormitories, and clean water systems, while also supporting seven full-time teacher salaries. To ensure these students become guardians of their natural heritage, we actively integrate environmental stewardship into their education through dedicated Children in the Wilderness Eco-Clubs and regular mentorship from our guides and conservation partners.
We invite guests to visit one of our partner schools to see these initiatives first-hand. A visit during term time offers a wonderful opportunity to meet the teachers and students, and gain insight into daily community life. Whether you are staying with us in the Mara or the Great Rift Valley, simply speak to your Camp Manager or guide to arrange a visit.
How You Can Help There are several meaningful ways to support these schools and their students:
Guided Community Giving: Leave the logistics to us. We can purchase much-needed educational supplies locally on your behalf—supporting regional businesses—and help you distribute them directly to the schools during your stay.
The Bursary Fund: Many bright students in remote areas simply cannot afford the costs of secondary education. By contributing to our Bursary Fund, you can sponsor a child’s tuition and boarding fees, unlocking their potential and changing the trajectory of their life.
