March in the Masai Mara

Heavy rain arrived in the Masai Mara over the last month. The River rose dramatically and the Marsh filled up with water. Huge herds of Elephant families flocked to the Marsh to feed and the youngsters played very happily in the mud. Very sadly Marsh Pride lioness Rembo seems to have lost one cub but the other two are safely tucked away in a new hiding spot. And we have had some regular rhino visitors to Little Governors Camp including three at a time!

March at Loldia House

The rains have finally arrived at Loldia this month and the ranch is looking wonderful and green. Guests have been treated to sightings of leopard and aardvark on their night game drives and work has been completed on our new sundowner jetty! Our guests have also been enjoying lovely picnic breakfasts at Lake Elementaita on their way to Lake Nakuru and we are looking forward to having a full house over Easter.

The Gorillas have moved down the slopes making treks to see them shorter. The Sabyinyo gorilla family were treated by the gorilla doctors for a respiratory illness and there have been interfamily fueds between the Agasha and Amahoro groups this month which our guests have witnessed.
