August wildlife report Masai Mara

Over the last month we have seen hundreds of thousands of wildebeest from the migration arrive on the plains of the Masai Mara. There have been dramatic river crossings with huge crocodiles lining up in the water and leopard patrolling the river banks. Out on the plains families of elephants have been moving through, warthogs are giving birth and the wildlife vets were called in to do another dramatic treatment on Marsh Pride Lioness Siena.

Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge August News

It has been a busy high season at Sabyinyo, there have been refurbishments at the lodge and marriage proposals in the nature garden! Guests have been enjoying some wonderful gorilla trekking, managed Alisa joined some clients on a trek to see the Pablo family whose silverback put on quite a display and they also had time to watch a large peaceful family gathering higher up the slopes. Alisa and Thor also went on the SACOLA community walk a lovely way to spend an afternoon and get a real glimpse into rural Rwandan life.
